Regular readers will already know that every issue of Able Magazine comes complete with more chances to win competitions for great prizes and scoop giveaway goodies too. Have you ever wondered who wins? Well, it’s people like you.

We recently ran a competition in association with disability charity, Papworth Trust for a stay at their stunning Kerry Farm, deep in the Welsh countryside.

Opened in 2013, Kerry Farm is a lovely place for a break tailored to visitors’ needs, where family friends and couples of all ages can relax and have fun together. Little surprise then that when I called Dominic Findlay from Worcestershire to tell him that he’d be spending six glorious days there, his mum Brenda’s voice lifted into a transcendent “Wow! That’s brilliant!”

Similarly, Ellen Ward from Manchester was equally thrilled to have had her name pulled from our brimming hat of entries, this time winning a family outdoor activity weekend at Avon Tyrrell in the New Forest.

Avon Tyrrell’s Inclusion Weekends are exclusive to families that have a child with a disability, giving people the opportunity to come away and spend time together doing things that are fun and challenging in a safe and friendly environment.

Ellen and her family win two nights in a Grade 1 listed house with full board catering and a full activity package. Again the enthusiasm spilled out as I broke the news over the phone: “Oh fantastic! My youngest will love it!” said Ellen before adding: “I read up on it about six months ago because my youngest son has had major spinal surgery and has non-verbal autism as well. We heard that it’s lovely – especially for families, and that it’s very relaxing. I’m over the Moon now, thank you so much!

The Able Magazine team wishes all of our competition winners well and would also again like to thank our competition partners for their support.
