A young Doncaster golfer is teeing up for a trip to the USA thanks to a cash boost from a local housebuilder.

Taylor Wimpey has handed £500 to Lewis Eccles, 14, meaning he can compete in the 2015 US Disabled Open.

Despite being diagnosed with autism, ADHD and dyspraxia, Lewis started playing golf aged eight, and is currently UK Disabled Open Junior Champion and a member of the England Disabled Golf Men’s International Team.

His dad Peter said: “Although dyspraxia usually affects coordination, Lewis is an absolute natural at golf. Without Taylor Wimpey’s donation, he wouldn’t be able to fulfil his dream of competing in the US Disabled Open; so we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”
