The wiring of the stair lift charging strips. It is most likely loose making a bad connection. The charging light draws very little power. And the bad connection is allowing enough power for the light and not enough for the stair motor.Try cleaning the power strips when the circuit breaker is turned off with electric parts cleaner. If it doesn't work inspect the electrical contacts for a bad connection.
