Handiscover.com, the accessible accommodation booking site that provides vacation rentals and hotels for people with limited mobility, has raised SEK 5.5 million (USD 700,000) to expand their business in Europe. The funding comes from, amongst others, HOWZAT Partners and Tranquility Capital.

“Handiscover fills a valuable gap in the travel market with its focus on accessibility. We were impressed by the passion of the founding team and the progress of the business,” commented David Soskin, Partner at HOWZAT Partners.

“Handiscover fully complies with Tranquility Capital’s investment philosophy. The company has a strong team, a sustainable and strong business model, and is active in the accessibility industry which we have long experience and passion,” said Stefan Johansson, CEO and founder of Tranquility Capital.

In addition, all previous major investors, including Entreprenörinvest, Almi Invest, and business angels, also participated in this round of finance. In the two years since its launch in the Swedish consumer market, Handiscover has grown significantly and is currently the world’s leading accommodation booking site in the accessibility industry. Handiscover offers a choice of over 28,000 certified properties in 83 countries. With its new round of finance and its recent collaboration with Amadeus, Handiscover will further expand its geographical coverage and product offering.

“We are very proud to get on board such experienced and entrepreneurially-minded investors as our long-term partners,” said Sebastien Archambeaud, Founder and CEO of Handiscover. “With HOWZAT Partners’ experience in travel technology and Tranquility Capital’s accessibility expertise, we will rapidly take our business to the next level.”
