Travel Stops: Leopold Hotel

Leopold Hotel is Sheffield’s first boutique hotel, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World portfolio and part of the vibrant and sophisticated community of the city centre’s mix of restaurants and architecture.
Formally a boys grammar school, the beautiful grade II listed building has been transformed into a 90-bedroom boutique hotel which blends old surroundings with a modern and timeless interior. Combing style, quality and attention to detail, many of the Leopold’s bedrooms contain carefully restored original features and all of them have plush fabrics, extremely comfortable and spacious beds and a welcoming ambiance.
All bedrooms feature interactive and digital TV, hardwired internet complete with keyboard, i-pod docking station with radio alarm and turn down service all feature as standard. Designer and eco friendly goodies are given as gifts in each bathroom to enrich the boutique experience.
The hotel has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of the building’s light and open spaces, with the bar and lounge looking out through huge arch windows onto Leopold Square and an easily accessible al fresco terrace.

Five of the Leopold’s rooms are fully accessible. All public areas are accessible in the hotel – including reception, the bar and lounge – are accessible, as are meeting rooms and private dining rooms. Parking is located close to the hotel in secure areas, although the area outside of the hotel is available for unloading luggage and meeting the concierge.
The hotel is an exceptional building, harmoniously lending itself to comfort with large functional spaces, generous doorways both in height and width as well as having tactile surfaces as well as comfortable design classics and innovative furniture.
