Melfort Pier & Harbour is a unique place to spend a few days, in a stunning location, right on the shores of beautiful Loch Melfort, where the Highlands come down to the sea.
Melfort Pier is set within protected natural surroundings and only 30 minutes away from the historic town of Oban, renowned as the gateway to the Isles, a friendly place in itself with lots of shops and a friendly atmosphere – the ferries to the nearby Isles are all wheelchair friendly.
Speaking of the sea, local company, Sealife Adventures offer whale and wildlife watching boat trips where, on a good day, you’ll see anything from porpoise, minke whales, dolphins, basking sharks, otters and seals. Whilst birdwatchers might well glimpse sea eagles, golden eagles, puffins and a great variety of seabirds.
Arduaine Garden, run by the National Trust is just a short drive down the road. The garden always shows the best seasonal blooms and is wheelchair friendly and the Chart Room next to it is also accessible and is a lovely place for a cup of tea.
Once back at Melfort Pier you’ll find your holiday home is nice and cosy with everything as it should be; you can even bring up to two pets per house.

We’ve got plenty of parking, good fishing and for wildlife enthusiasts, the area is second to none – otters, seals, swans, herons, hooded crow and deer are all regularly seen and are just a few of the many species around Loch Melfort.
