QEF Mobility Services is welcoming parents of children with disabilities and anyone that works with assistive technology or occupational therapy to the second QEF Kids day on Friday 4th March.

The event is being held at the QEF Mobility Centre in Carshalton, which is within easy reach of London and within the M25.

The day will involve an exhibition of children’s equipment and demonstrations of essential kit, including mobility aids, buggies and wheelchairs, assistive technology, car seats for disabled children, sleep systems and accessible vehicles

On the day QEF staff will be available to provide a range of assessments to provide advice about the most suitable equipment and ways to use car seats, and on paediatric mobility and vehicle access.

We will also be providing a range of training sessions to include powered mobility for young children, car seat choice, wheelchair accessible vehicle choice, and advice for families travelling by air.

Additionally, information will be available for young people with disabilities who are thinking about learning to drive, who may need to learn in a modified vehicle or require bespoke support.

Representatives from all QEF services will be there with stands to provide information about their services; including MERU (Medical Engineering Resource Unit), VASD (Voluntary Association for Surrey Disabled), Mobility Services, Neuro Rehabilitation, Independent Living Services and Sutton Shopmobility.

There will also be a range of children’s charities and providers of services to people with disabilities who will be on hand to share information, advice, and to offer access to a strong network of organisations that support disabled children and their families.
