Lastly, but by no means least is Sirus’ passion for new product development and innovation.Sirus invest huge amounts of time and money into research and development, with a team of experts dedicated solely to this area. The Sirus Kan-go set the standard in the mobility market by producing the first affordable, high quality, compact, drive from and up front passenger vehicle. Simon commented “The Kan-go made this type of vehicle accessible and affordable to thoseindividuals who couldn’t afford it previously. Wav-Evolution

In association with industry colleague, Aspect Conversions Sirus set about designing the most advanced mobility solution in the world today. The Wav-Evolution. For the first time a wheelchair user can stay in their wheelchair in the front seat of their car and all the rear seats are available as normal. Based on the Kia Sedona, the adaptationleaves all of the other six seats in place and the boot totally unaffected. Douglas Campbell, Independent Disability Consultant quoted “Some serious engineering development has been undertaken to attach a section of floor and a ramp to the front passenger side door. With the door open, the wheelchair rollsup the ramp and is easily locked down. Closing the door positions the disabled passenger in a superbly comfortable position next to the driver and there is none of the heaving and pushing involved in transferring from wheelchair to car-seat. The development of the WAV-Evolution shows that here in the UK wehave some of the best engineers in the world and they are producing some reallyimaginative, innovative solutions to meet the mobility needs of disabled people”.

Adaptations service

Examples of our products and services:

Push /pull hand controls

If you havean impaired leg function, mechanical push / pull hand controls are an idealsolution.

Steering aids

Such as steering balls / pegs which are designed to aid one handed steering and clamp directly to the wheel.

Infra Red Controls

Infra redcontrols allow you to operate up to 18 of the vehicles secondary controls such as indicators, wipers, horn, lights etc. A handset fitted with a steering aidis mounted to the steering wheel enabling figure tip operation of the vehicles secondary functions.

Clutch Systems

Again for impaired leg functions and for example if you have a manual car and don’t want to change your car to an automatic, this is the system for you. A

Syncro clutch can be fitted to virtually any type of car, van or truck and converts a manual gear shift to a semi automatic.

PedalModifications

These can often be a very simple and cost effective solution for people with limited leg movement, for example the left foot accelerator. This enables the driver tooperate the throttle with the left foot while the original accelerator pedal is safely out of the way.

Handbrake Modifications

For people with left hand mobility difficulty or if finger dexterity is reduced, a simple lever can be used to eliminate the need to depress the release button on the handbrake.

ParkingSensors

The sensors can detect unseen obstacles in front and behind you taking the stress out of parking and reducing the risk of damaging your own or any other vehicle.

Rain Sensors

This sensor detects rain, sleet and snow upon hitting the windscreen. This activates the wipers automatically at the correct speed so you don’t have to take your hands off the wheel to adjust the speed of your wipers.

Reversing Camera and Monitor

Our reversing camera provides you with a third eye whilstparking the vehicle. By using a discrete camera fitted into the bumper or inthe back window it displays your rear view image on to a LCD monitor integratedin your rear view mirror.

Cruise Control

Cruise control can fulfil the function of an automatic speedcontrol. This can improve your driving comfort on long journeys helping toreduce stress, tiredness and can also increase road safety and eliminate accidental speeding.

Sirus canalso fit boot hoists, various seating solutions and ramps. Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for something which is not listed here.
