SNAPPI PUSHCHAIR
Last issue Able magazine asked for somebody to help review a Snappi pushchair; Sarah and her daughter Madison answered the call!
Three year old Maddison has been using a Snappi pushchair for some time now; according to her mother, Sarah, it’s “done her the world of good,” since switching from an ordinary pushchair – and, as a result, they have pointed out some of the best features of the Snappi pushchair.
The Snappi is a highly adjustable model, designed to accommodate a wide variety of specific seating needs. “Maddison has trouble holding her head,” says Sarah, “so she needs the chair mostly for head control and it’s very good.”
The attractive high-grade aluminium design of the Snappi combines durability with an easily foldable frame. As you’d expect the handles are adjustable, although Sarah was disappointed that they didn’t have any hooks for shopping. This is because manufacturer Tendercare are concerned with stability issues preferring to offer a large material shopping basket which fits easily underneath the pushchair. High quality wheels and castors ensure it’s easy on the child and attendant alike.
The Snappi is also able to accommodate the changing needs of a growing child; the height adjustable backrest allows for up to 170mm of growth, whilst the seat depth and hip width are adjustable by up to 100mm. “The chair has a neck support as well, so she can recline as well as tilt,” Sarah says. “There are plenty of ways to get her comfortable.”
Indeed the backrest reclines from 90° to 140° by means of an easy to operate gas strut. The seat tilt has an impressive range from 0° to 40° which, with no pre-set positions, ensures comfort for the child at all times. Full trunk support is completed with optional adjustable lateral supports
Snappi pushchairs are available with a range of accessories and covers, made from breathable material for comfort in any weather, that comply with current British fire standards. Other features include spring loaded catches to prevent little fingers from fiddling with release levers.
