Mickey & Minnie up to mischief

Even though Naidex Scotland always goes by in a flash, we always have a great time and this year was no exception. Thousands of people descended on Glasgow's SECC to check out the latest and greatest innovations in the world of disability and independent living.

We took Mickey & Minnie Mouse with us and gave them the opportunity to spread the Able message (and a little mischief) around the SECC.

Not only could attendees at the exhibition enter to win a fantastic holiday to Florida with Able Magazine and our partners Mosaic Leisure, but they also left with a copy of our latest issue containing great features on prescription addiction and living with Chronic Pain.

Naidex Scotland is an incredibly important landmark on the disability calendar and it was great to see so many great charities, companies, services and members of the public enjoying the experience and offering advice and trials to disabled people who had travelled from far and wide to join us at the event.

Our cartoon pals, along with the rest of our team, met some wonderful people, some old friends and saw some fantastic new products.

One of our favourites took home Able's 'Best in Show' Award. Moorings Mediquip's Head Pod was selected above a really strong field by our Editor, Tom Jamison, who praised the benefits to people with hypotonia, with the Head Pod improving breathing, eating and communication.

He was also impressed by the simplicity of the kit's idea and implementation as well as its ease of assembly and adjustment. Not only that, it represents excellent value for money as it scales with the individual as they grow and in some cases can help to rehabilitate muscles in the neck.

It's been a whirlwind few days and we just want to say thank you to Naidex Scotland and all of the other exhibitors for their warm welcome and kind words about the work that we do with Able Magazine.

We had an absolutely wonderful time and we look forward to seeing you all again at Naidex National at Birmingham's NEC in May 2014.

To those of you who couldn't make it along to Naidex Scotland, fear not! You'll have a chance to win that marvellous two week holiday to Florida in the November/December edition of Able Magazine!

Make sure you don't miss your chance to win and subscribe to Able Magazine today.
