Bristol Street Versa have made important progress when it comes to the expansion of their Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle conversions business. For those who don’t know, Bristol Street Versa is the sister company of Bristol Street Motors, part of the Vertu Motors PLC dealer group, the 6th largest motor retailer in the United Kingdom.
Their range of rear and side-entry WAVs spans from the car-like Ford Tourneo Connect through the ever-popular Volkswagen Transporter and the more sizeable Renault Master.
With over 25 years of WAV and motoring expertise, they’ve never been better placed to add an extra string to their bow and appoint a new Business Development Manager. Tim Walker joined the business in May 2019 and is responsible for all corporate sales. Hailing from a background in field sales, Tim departed The Automotive Group in pursuit of a new challenge.
Tim’s professional demeanour, product knowledge and friendly rapport with customers makes him the natural choice for corporate sales. This is inclusive of, but not exclusive to, the sale of wheelchair accessible taxis and transportation solutions for care homes, local authorities and schools no matter the size of their fleet. As for unexpected opportunities, Tim’s position in his community as Chair of Governors at a primary school, means that he has been lucky enough to be able provide such solutions on a local level.
“As a converter, having a range of desirable vehicles and affordable choices meant that the entry into the corporate marketplace didn’t feel like a huge risk to us,” says Jo Ellison, Business Development Director at Vertu Motors PLC, “we are extremely pleased as a business to offer another fantastic service which drives us towards the overall goal of providing wheelchair accessible taxis and vehicles to fleets up and down the country to ensure an improved quality of life to those who would otherwise experience difficulty getting around.”
“Corporate customers are looking for a solution that matches the needs of a wide spectrum of service-users. Working with corporate customers and taxi operators, we have to ensure that the advice and vehicle we offer will be suitable today, and several years into the future as the needs of their customers may change,” says Tim.
Bristol Street Versa’s customer service and aftercare have been widely praised, with the Vertu Motors’ robust infrastructure responsible for the high standards upheld by all colleagues and expected by their customers.
And what does Tim like best about the role? “The culture and knowledge of the staff. From the product development and production team, right through to admin and marketing, they are all committed to providing the best possible assistance to help me do my job, and provide the best, most up to date advice available to my customers.”
