Derwen College is a place of possibility, supporting students in their preparation for adulthood.

Based in Shropshire, Derwen College offers an exceptionally vibrant, inclusive and positive environment for 16 to 25-year-olds with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Students learn valuable work and independence skills, along with wellbeing and skills in the community.

Derwen College has its own public facing ‘Marketplace’ including a garden centre, cafe, restaurant and charity shop, as well as a hotel! Here, students gain real life work skills, increasing their chances of employment and independent living post-college.

In 2022, the college was honoured to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Promoting Opportunity. It has a dedicated Duke of Edinburgh’s Award outdoor centre, is accredited by the National Autistic Society, and is Makaton friendly.
