A team of 20 young adults who are part of the Glasgow Disabled Scouts have joined with thousands of other Scouts across the UK in a new initiative designed to remove social barriers, connect communities and improve lives.

The Scouts has a membership of over 500,000 young people and adult volunteers and together, their “million hands” are aiming to find out about and solve challenges in their local community.

For the disabled Scouts in Glasgow, they have chosen the theme of ‘water’ and have partnered with the international charity, ‘Water Aid’ to look at the challenges faced by people across the world in accessing clean water and sanitation.

One of the Scouts, Kurtis said:

“There are Scouts all over the world, and lots of them live in places without water. We wanted to see if we could find out more about that and do what we can to help them.”
