Origin Spinal Injury Care has been providing specialist live-in care services for adults with spinal cord injuries since 2001. In that time, they have helped hundreds of clients across the UK live more independently, following a spinal injury.

Led by Peter Henry, who experienced a C5/6 spinal cord injury in 1986, and Origin’s managing director, Linda Adamsen, Origin offers specialist full-time and respite care and can help with the transition of coming home from hospital for the first time with a spinal injury, or with travel both domestically and overseas.

Following his injury, Peter realised that people in a similar situation to him needed better support to live independently. This led him to partner with Linda, and together they co-founded Origin.

Experience
Peter’s first-hand experience with a spinal cord injury means he understands the significance of quality care and the needs of Origin’s clients, whereas Linda’s perspective as previous carer with a background in teaching, allows her to emphasise the importance of comprehensive support and training for Origin’s team. This dual perspective allows Origin to deliver care packages tailored to clients’ individual and practical needs, while facilitating great working relationships between clients and carers.
