Founder of Able Move Ltd, and winner of the UK Disabled Entrepreneurs Award in 2018, Josh Wintersgill, was invited by EasyJet founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou to discuss the option of pursuing a brand license within the easy family of brands and an investment deal with easyGroup Ltd for his innovative in-situ transfer seat providing wheelchair users a safer, more dignified and comfortable means of transferring onto aircraft.

Making the seat completely orange was not agreed but after just two meetings, it was official, easyTravelseat was born.

The awards, ran by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, and charity, Leonard Cheshire, aim to support disabled entrepreneurs in their journey while encouraging others who wish to follow the same route.

easyTravelseat successfully debuted at Naidex 2019 in March where it gained exceptional customer reviews and feedback. easyTravelseat was formally introduced to the easy family of brands in April in London.

Sir Stelios said: “As is often the case, the simplest ideas can be the best. Josh has had an idea, which is the near-perfect solution to the indignity, discomfort and embarrassment experienced by disabled people when trying to access aircraft seats. I’m very confident that easyTravelseat will soon become as synonymous for ease and comfort as Stannah has for stairlifts.”
