Parallel Windsor
June 28, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Parallel, the world’s first inclusive mass participation event is set to return on 28 June 2020 in Windsor Great Park; subject to contract.
Parallel Windsor will become the organiser’s new flagship event; which will host its range of multiple distances; 100m, 1K, 5K, 10K and the innovative Super Sensory 1K. The format of the event will also include a free to attend fully accessible festival of inclusivity.
Parallel Windsor will welcome all ages and abilities; with the event slogan of ‘Start Together, Finish Whenever’ epitomising the spirit of the event.
Andrew Douglass, Founder of Parallel said:
“It has always been my ambition to make our flagship Parallel event a national celebration of inclusion; with disability at the heart of the experience. To achieve this, I believe you must also create a true sense of occasion and belonging; which is why I am so excited to stage Parallel in the iconic Windsor Great Park.”
Paul Sedgwick, Deputy Ranger of Windsor Great Park said:
“We are delighted to be working with Andrew Douglass and his team and look forward to hosting the Parallel Event in the historic setting of Windsor Great Park, where we share Andrew’s passion for accessibility and inclusion.”
The last Parallel took place in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2017; which was multi award-winning; including Best Participation Event and the Diversity and Inclusion Award at the BT Sport Industry Awards and Best Mass Participation Event at the Sport Business Awards. The event attracted 4,500 ‘fun-runners’, of which 45% declared a disability; with thousands getting active for the very first time.
Parallel is a unique way to showcase your commitment to inclusivity, create internal and external brand engagement and raise vital funds for charity. The two Parallels to date have helped raise over £1million for more than 100 disability charities.
Douglass goes on to say:
“I am a passionate advocate of the power of live events and I believe through shared experience on a mass-scale; we can continue to be a dynamic catalyst for positive change; particularly with regards to attitudes towards disability, social inclusion and greater accessibility across society.”
Registration for Parallel Windsor will open on 28 June at www.parallellifestyle.com; one year in advance of the event.
