Gerald Simonds is delighted to announce the launch of a re-designed version of the popular Veloce folding wheelchair which is manufactured by Canada based Motion Composites.
The most significant change to the latest model is the addition of the award-winning carbon fibre frame design which is also found in the Apex Carbon wheelchair and enables the Veloce to perform like a rigid wheelchair yet have the flexibility of a folding frame. The cutting-edge design of the carbon fibre frame provides unrivalled levels of durability and strength combined with fatigue resistance and extreme temperature tolerance yet has a transport weight of just 11.98 lbs (5.43 kg).
With a maximum user weight of nearly 18 stone (114kg) and width and depth dimensions of 14” (35.6cm) to 20” (50.8cm), the Veloce is the ideal lightweight wheelchair solution for users looking to maintain an active lifestyle. The Veloce is also highly adjustable as the user can easily adjust the front and rear seat to floor heights, seat bucket and centre of gravity, whilst the hinged one-piece footrest means that the frame can be easily folded for transportation or storage.
“We are delighted to announce this latest addition to our portfolio of lightweight manual wheelchairs. The original Veloce has been a very popular model and this latest innovation by the design team at Motion Composites will benefit our customers who are looking for a wheelchair to suit their active lifestyle” commented Emily Tomson, Marketing Manager at Gerald Simonds.
