On 18th June Business Disability Forum will be showcasing the talent of young filmmakers at its Film Festival 2019, taking place at the KPMG building in Canary Wharf.
Back in March, Business Disability Forum set budding young filmmakers a challenge – to produce and submit a short film which answers the question ‘Identity through the lens of disability, what does this mean to you?’. Filmmakers had just 10 days to complete the challenge.
Entries were judged by a panel of leaders from film, business and disability and shortlisted entries will be shown at the festival on 18 June where the winner will be announced.
Prizes include work experience placements with film production companies.
The competition and festival are now in their third year. Previous finalists and winners have gone on to greater success in the film industry and roles in media.
Last year’s winning entry, for example, was recently announced as the winning entry in the education category of the Picture This…Film Festival in Canada. The film shows a day in the life of a man with ADHD.
A finalist from 2017 was approached shortly after the festival and offered a role interviewing and filming disabled athletes at the World Para Athletic Championships in London.

This promises to be the best Film Festival yet! This event is not to be missed!
