In alignment with World Autism Awareness Day, Microsoft is expanding their Autism Hiring Program and sharing learnings about inclusive hiring with other employers.

Given that 80% of people on the autism spectrum are unemployed or underemployed, this is a great moment to highlight the impact organizations have when they work together to create new opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Details:

  • Expansion of Autism Hiring Pilot Program: Microsoft is expanding their Autism Hiring Program beyond the Redmond campus with pilots at their Fargo, ND, and Vancouver, BC campuses.
  • Video: Microsoft also released a video about their cohort model for the Autism Hiring Program.
  • Autism @ Work Playbook: Recently, Microsoft collaborated with EY, JP Morgan Chase & Co., SAP, and the University of Washington Information School to create the Autism @ Work Playbook, a resource for employers with guidance on how to start inclusive hiring programs.
  • Virtual Career Fair: In addition, Microsoft will host a Virtual Career Fair on April 23, where candidates on the autism spectrum can meet with recruiters, learn about opportunities, and submit resumes with 14 companies, including Fidelity, Deloitte, Travelers, IBM, PwC, and Ford.
