The leading manufacturer and supplier of driving adaptations will be demonstrating what is possible at the ‘Explore Electric’ event
Mobility in Motion, the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of vehicle adaptations and driving aids, will have a unique presence at an upcoming landmark EV consultation event taking place in West Yorkshire.
The company has answered a call from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to lease an EV vehicle, kitted out with the latest driving adaptations, which will be on display at the ‘Explore Electric’ event being held on Tuesday 10 September at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield.
Explore Electric is being held as part of a public consultation to improve electric vehicle infrastructure across West Yorkshire, through the authority’s £17 million Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme.
While there will be 40+ EV vehicles on show, Mobility in Motion’s vehicle – a 2025 Ford Explorer – will be the only one of its kind, adapted to demonstrate what is possible for people with reduced mobility or a disability, but who still want to retain their independence behind the wheel and explore purchasing an EV vehicle.
The Ford Explorer being showcased will be adapted with the latest boot hoist technology, as well a Turny Evo swivel seat. The company will also have its newest product on show for the first time publicly, its SureDrive hand controls.
Matt Fieldhouse, Managing Director at Mobility in Motion, said: “At Mobility in Motion, we are deeply committed to innovation and to enabling independence and accessibility for all, regardless of their mobility challenges and vehicle preferences, be that a traditional fuel vehicle or EV.”
“Our presence at the ‘Explore Electric’ event is a testament to our dedication to ensuring that the transition to electric vehicles is inclusive for everyone.
“By showcasing an EV with a selection of driving adaptations, we aim to raise awareness that businesses like ours are actively working to ensure that EVs are accessible to everyone regardless of their vehicle adaptation requirements.
“We are proud to support the West Yorkshire Combined Authority in their desire to enhance EV infrastructure, and we look forward to continuing our mission to enable all drivers on their journey towards independence.”
