Independent living exhibition, Naidex and Able Magazine have a long established relationship. After the cancellations of last year, it’s wonderful to welcome them back.

As in previous years, Able Magazine has again been selected as headline media partner. This means that we get the inside track on how things have been developing during the preparations. Finally, we get to share those details with our readership!

Naidex is Europe’s most established independent living event and ties in perfectly with the Able Magazine motto: ‘What disabled people can do, not what they can’t’. For months we’ve been in discussion with them about how their comeback is going to look. ‘Building back better’ starts here!

Disabled people have had a tough time and many are looking forward to returning to Naidex and having the opportunity to look at the wide-ranging solutions to improve mobility and accessibility, as well as the latest innovations and technology as they relate to digital and physical accessibility.

Safe
While providing the usual (and more) features of the event, Naidex has made great efforts to keep visitors safe. Sanitising stations and extra space and ventilation measures will all be in place – and of course the NEC show halls are all highly accessible with excellent disability friendly facilities.

One of the challenges of operating in the disability marketplace is just how vast and varied disability is. The strength of Naidex is in its scale and reputation. It’s clear that it’s become a ‘must attend’ event for leading manufacturers and dealerships of all kinds – including for Able Magazine – and in its 46th iteration it will host over 200 suppliers and welcome 100 inspirational speakers and panellists, ready to pass on their valuable insight and expertise from their particular field.

This year, again as has become tradition, we’ll be running the Able Magazine Awards. One of the exhibitors will be the proud winner of our Able Magazine Best In Show Award, in association with Naidex. We’ll be reviewing all manner of disability products and services with the aim of picking out just one that we think is the very best – no mean task, when you consider the thousands to select from.

Something special
Something special is always happening at Naidex, whether it’s a person finding a much-needed solution to living happier, healthier and more comfortably, through to the moment when a small child finds their ideal mobility solution – or scores their first wheelchair basketball hoop in the Live Sports Arena. Better futures are literally decided in these moments.

Whether you choose to visit the Mobility Test Track, the Live Sports Arena, take in a seminar or panel or follow the Naidex Junior trail, you’ll finish the day with more than you started with.

I urge you to book your free tickets today – and we’ll see you there!

Naidex is at the NEC, Birmingham 15 – 16 September 2021.
