LimbPower focus on getting inactive physically disabled people active. The LimbPower Games is designed to guide and support new amputees and individuals with limb impairments and individuals new to sport in how to take part and what the physical, psychological and social benefits are.

Limbpower-Games-2016Stoke Mandeville Stadium will host the 9th annual LimbPower Games on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22 May. This event is the highlight of the year for many amputees looking to discover and progress in physical activity and sport.

The LimbPower Games is the first time that many of the participants have really had the opportunity to see and try for themselves the many sports that are available to them as amputees or limb impaired.  Over the years the LimbPower Games has helped hundreds of amputees and individuals with limb impairments to gain confidence, improve mobility and find a great new activity.  The Games have even been responsible for starting some on the road to the Paralympics!  83% of past participants to our events have said that they have gone on to take up a sport.

Among the sports on offer this year are: Athletics (track & field), cycling, wheelchair rugby, archery, tennis, badminton, swimming, shooting, basketball, cricket, sitting volleyball, football, golf, agility balance and co-ordination session and a strength and conditioning session – so there is something to suit everyone!

Thanks to the generous support of the Blatchford Group and Stewart’s Law and LimbPower’s fundraising efforts throughout the year, the LimbPower Games is available to participants for a modest registration fee only.
