This summer, One Big Day Peterborough returns, offering disabled motorists and their families the chance to discover worry-free motoring with the Motability Scheme. The extensive display of vehicles for disabled people will set up home at East of England Arena on Saturday 8 September following last year’s hugely successful event.

Free to attend and with free parking for all visitors, One Big Day Peterborough will continue the Motability Scheme’s programme of events taking place throughout the UK this summer.

Visitors will have the chance to get behind the wheel alongside a professional driving instructor and test drive a range of vehicles, including a wide selection fitted with popular driving adaptations. Guests can book a test drive on the day by presenting their full driving licence to the test drive team.

The event will showcase over 65 vehicles from leading manufacturers including Ford, Vauxhall, Hyundai, and more. There will be a number of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) on display plus a range of vehicle adaptations and scooters. Motability Scheme advisors will be on hand throughout the event providing advice and useful information about the Scheme.

An event for the whole family to enjoy, One Big Day Peterborough offers free children’s entertainment such as free balloon modelling, a bouncy castle, free face painting and of course the chance to say hello to the Motability Scheme mascot, Billy the Bear. Plus, on arrival all visitors will be treated to a token for a free cup of tea, coffee or a soft drink.

Alison Beasley, One Big Day event manager, said:

“We are excited to be bringing the One Big Day event back to Peterborough. It’s a fun-packed day where disabled people and their families and friends can find out all they need to know about the Motability Scheme. Designed to help people find the best mobility options for their needs, visitors can take to the road on a test drive, explore the wide range of vehicles, scooters, powered wheelchairs and adaptations and meet our Motability Scheme advisors all under one roof.”
