Day eight is a big one in the Stade de France as ParalympicsGB athletes compete for eight medals throughout the day.
There are plenty of golds up for grabs elsewhere, while ParalympicsGB’s men’s wheelchair basketball players face a crunch semi-final as they bid to make a first gold medal match since 1996.
Athletics
Dan Pembroke will be defending his Tokyo gold medal in the Men’s F13 javelin at 20:45 (CET) on a busy day of field events for British athletes.
Seven-time Paralympian Dan Greaves will be hoping for his seventh medal in the Men’s F64 discus and the 41-year-old will be competing alongside debutant Harrison Walsh from 19:04.
In the morning session, Funmi Oduwaiye takes part in her second event of the Games, the Women’s F64 shot put, at 11.15, and Anna Nicholson will be competing in the Women’s F35 shot put at 10:00.
Nathan Maguire and Daniel Sidbury are set to return to the track for the Men’s T54 800m. The qualifying is at 12:03, followed by the final at 20:21.
In the Women’s T53 400m, Sammi Kinghorn – who has already won silvers in the 1500m and 800m in Paris – will be hoping to improve on her Tokyo silver medal at 19:26.
In the T54 classification, Melanie Woods will be aiming for the podium over the same distance. Qualifying is at 12:54 with the final at 19:34.
Olivia Breen and Maddie Down will be jumping for glory at 10:04 in the Women’s T38 long jump. Breen will want to improve on her Tokyo bronze as they both compete in their second event this Games, having raced in the 100m over the weekend.
Starting his Paralympics is Marcus Perrineau-Daley, who will be closing out the day in qualifying for the Men’s T52 100m at 21:01.
Swimming
Thirteen-year-old Iona Winnifrith will return to the pool for her favoured event, the Women’s 100m breaststroke in the SB7 class. The European champion will swim in qualifying at 09:30, with the final at 17:30.
Rebecca Redfern will also be hoping for a first gold medal in the Women’s SB13 100m breaststroke after winning silver in Rio and Tokyo. She swims in qualifying at 11:11, with the final at 19:33.
Her brother Matthew Redfern will be swimming in the Men’s SB13 100m breaststroke with qualifying at 10:51 and the final at 19:03.
Two swimmers who have already won gold in Paris, Faye Rogers and Alice Tai, bid for more on Thursday.
Rogers will compete in the Women’s S10 400m freestyle at 10:02 with the final at 17:50 while Tai will swim the Women’s S8 50m freestyle at 11:15 with the final at 19:56.
Scarlett Humphrey will race the Women’s SB11 100m breaststroke at 10:24, with the final at 18:24, and Toni Shaw will race the Women’s SM9 200m individual medley at 10:39, with the final at 18:55.
Wheelchair fencing
The Men’s team foil competition will feature Piers Gilliver, who won silver in the men’s sabre on Tuesday, and Dimitri Coutya, alongside Oliver Lam Watson.
The same team from Tokyo will be hoping to better their silver medal from three years ago. Their quarter-final is at 12:40 and the gold medal bout is at 21:15.
Powerlifting
On the second day of the powerlifting, Tokyo gold medallist Olivie Broome sets out to defend her title in the Women’s -50kg at 12:00.
In the evening session, Charlotte McGuinness and Mark Swan will be making their Paralympic debuts. McGuinness will be competing in the women’s -55kg category at 17:00 and Swan will follow in the men’s -65kg competition.
Table tennis
Bly Twomey, 14, has guaranteed herself a second medal of the Games and she competes in the semi-final of the Women’s singles WS7 competition against Kubra Korkut from Turkey at 11:00. The gold medal match will be at 19:15.
Shooting
Matt Skelhon will be competing in his second event at his fifth Paralympic Games. The R6 – Mixed 50m Rifle Prone SH1 qualifying is at 09:30 and the final is at 11:45.
Around the Games
At Roland-Garros, Alfie Hewett competes in the wheelchair tennis men’s singles semi-final.
The top seed takes on Spain’s Martin de la Puente, seeded third.
At Bercy Arena, the men’s wheelchair basketball team will compete in their semi-final against Germany at 16:00.
It is the second meeting of the two nations in Paris, with ParalympicsGB winning 76-55 when the sides met in the group stage on the opening day of the Games.
The women’s team will be playing for places 5-8 in the morning after they lost 59-52 to the USA in their quarter-final today. They take on Japan at 10:30 (CET).
