The Care Show, Birmingham will host a high-profile debate featuring the Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell MP; John Telling, Group Corporate Affairs Director, MiTie; Sara McKee, Founder of Evermore; Jane Ashcroft CBE, Chief Executive, Anchor; Andrew Cannon, Managing Director, Bupa Care Services, Bupa UK and David L Jones, Partner, Deloitte.  Taking place at 4pm on the first day of the event – 4 November, the panel will discuss “The State of Care in the UK: how can we fix the broken system?” and all registered visitors are invited to attend and ask questions of the panel.

Taking place on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 November, The Care Show – and its co-locating event, The Dementia Care Show – will provide a rich content of information for all involved in care today in the UK. The event will feature over 300 of the country’s leading suppliers, advisors and experts in care for the benefit of the expected 3000 visitors from care homes, home care agencies, the NHS and associations from across the country.

A full size dementia care bedroom, en suite bathroom, kitchen, dining room and garden will be created at The Dementia Care Show at The Care Show.  The feature will be complemented by a free of charge educational programme featuring leading industry commentators in a dedicated Dementia Care Seminar Theatre.  Topics include: Dementia Care in the Community; Inspirational Dementia Care Projects and Dementia and the Physical Environment, and the programme has been developed in association with Stirling University’s Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC), UK Active, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the National Care Association.

An additional Keynote Theatre at the event will leading speakers from the CQC, National Skills Academy and NICE to inspire attendees on topics such as: The Care Act: Implications for Providers; Understanding and marketing to the self funder; Recruitment training and retaining of staff; Occupancy levels and CQC regulation.
