All three Subaru Forester e-Boxer models are available on Motability. You can select from XE, Sport or XE Premium Lineartronic.
Whichever trim you select, performance is based around the 2.0-litre hybrid SI-Drive (Subaru Intelligent Drive). The system supports the driver by making adjustments to the throttle and gear shifting, resulting in a smoother and more confident drive. Sport Mode will give you keener response, while Intelligent Mode manages fuel-efficient journeys. X-Mode and Hill Descent Control are ideal for challenging terrain and keeping control while travelling downhill.
Disabled people may have used paddle shifts in other adapted cars and will feel comfortable with them on all versions of the Forester, to optionally change gear manually.
Infotainment and audio runs through an 8” multi-function touchscreen and includes a CD player, DAB radio, six speakers and connectivity via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth – with steering wheel mounted audio controls and voice recognition system. There is an additional 6.3” LCD screen hosting technical information and USB ports. Satellite navigation is standard on the Sport and XE Premium trims.
An 8-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seat, (with driver seat memory function) along with a tilt-adjustable, telescopic steering wheel and one-touch folding and reclining rear seats make it easy to find a comfortable position. While heated front seats are standard across the trims, rear seats are heated on the XE Premium trim – and the leather wrapped steering wheel is also heated from the Sport trim. Dual-zone automatic air-conditioning system with anti-dust filter and gesture-based temperature setting adjustment keep everyone comfortable.
Other conveniences include keyless entry and push-button start system, electronic parking brake, auto dimming rearview mirror, UV protection glass on the windscreen and front side windows, as well as automatic rain-sensing windscreen wipers. The XE Premium version also includes leather seats and a sunroof.
Safety features are impressive without exception across the trim levels. The EyeSight V4.0 kit, which is standard, includes proactive systems, such as pre-collision braking and throttle management, lane sway and departure warning, as well as lane keep assist, autonomous emergency steering and lane departure prevention.
Additionally, Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD) includes: blind spot monitoring, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert. Other safety features include: EyeSight Assist Monitor, reverse automatic braking, driver monitoring system, speed limiter, safety pedal system, ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist system, brake override, side view monitor, reversing camera and E-call.
The Forester is also incredibly practical, with 60/40 split folding rear seats creating a flat boot floor, and with a wide opening and square design, stowing even large items is much easier. The boot features a retractable parcel shelf and 12V DC socket, while the sides of the boot resist dirt and scratches and are easily wiped clean. The Sport and XE Premium versions feature a power tailgate.
Windscreen wiper de-icer, heated door mirrors, front and side defrosters and heated rear window with timer will make all the difference to the start of your day in the colder months.
