Operating from a modern, accessible Employment and Training Hub in Bow, we aim to increase the number of disabled people and people with long term health conditions in sustainable employment. We provide a straight forward programme of support solutions, which equip clients with the required tools to overcome any barriers stopping rapid progression into employment.
The Tower Project JET Service provides a supported employment service for people with learning disabilities, autism and long term health conditions that starts at the age of 14 and continues into adult life. The services that we provide enable people with learning disabilities and autism to not only gain and sustain employment but support users to develop their careers and increase their independence and community participation.
All JET Service clients are allocated a specialist Disability Employment Advisor. The Advisors have been specifically trained to support JET clients throughout their journey with the service from the initial assessment and planning stages to helping clients to sustain their employment once in paid work. This continuity of support is a vital component of the success of the service and our ability to support clients to progress rapidly into employment.
Support services provided by the Employment Advisor include:
- Initial Assessments
- Action Planning
- CV Building
- Job Searching and Job Applications
- Interview Skills and Confidence Building
- Job Coaching
Our National College Network Training Centre delivers a range of flexible vocational and life skills courses including Customer Services, Information Technology, Food Hygiene, Literacy and Numeracy. These courses are delivered in state of the art training rooms with access to the latest learning resources and equipment.
Through diagnostic testing, courses are provided at the appropriate level for clients and our qualified specialist tutors and teaching assistants foster a supportive environment, providing clients with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to best equip their progression into employment.
To support this progression volunteers from organisations including Thomson Reuters and Citibank add value to our training courses by providing their practical knowledge and experience to the training programs we offer.
The Tower Project JET Service operates a robust employment engagement programme working with employers in the private, public and voluntary sectors to source work placements, work trials and paid employment opportunities for JET clients.
Employers working with the JET Service range from large multinational companies in Canary Wharf to small voluntary sector providers. In addition to creating work opportunities for our clients, the Tower Project JET service plays an active role in promoting the employment of disabled people and people with long term health conditions.
