On stand N10103 at this year’s Naidex, Karma Mobility will be showcasing examples from its comprehensive range of manual and powered wheelchairs including the VIP2, E-Flexx and Blazer.

“Naidex is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with Healthcare Professionals, end users and retailers from across the UK and demonstrate our extensive range of products in a relaxed and friendly environment” commented Mark Duffield, General Manager, Karma Mobility.

The VIP2 is the latest addition to the Karma Mobility portfolio of manual wheelchairs and offers users a superb combination of tilt in space and reclining positions to ensure they can achieve optimum levels of pressure relief, positioning and comfort at all times. In addition to its 35-degree tilt, The VIP2 comes with either a backrest with fixed recline positions or an adjustable reclining back of 30 degrees. The recline angle of the fixed backrest is adjustable from -5 degrees to 15 degrees. The VIP2 comes with an adjustable headrest with a range of position options while other features include a deeper seat for taller users and a tension adjustable backrest.

One concern many users of reclining wheelchairs have is the risk of sliding. This has been addressed by locating the pivot point of the chair close to the user’s hip joint which synchronises with the motion of the body and the chair therefore greatly reducing the sensation of sliding when reclining. The feeling of anxiousness some users have when going to the tilt position has also been taken into account with the design of a unique weight shifting system. The system allows the centre of gravity to travel between the front and rear wheels while tilting which provides steadier balance and greater feeling of security.

The E-Flexx is one of the lightest foldable powered wheelchairs currently available and builds on the success of the Flexx lightweight manual wheelchair to provide a lightweight powerchair which is ideal for travelling.

Powered by lithium batteries, standard features on the E-Flexx include reinforced double cross braces for increased levels of user comfort and safety and comfortable air mesh upholstery. Additional features include foldable push handles to help with folding, swing away footrests which enable the chair to be used in confined spaces and to get close to a chair or bed, angle adjustable backrest for increased comfort and height adjustable flip-back armrests with integrated locking system for transferring. Optional extras include attendant steering handles and parallel swing away joystick controls.

The Blazer powerchair is now available with a folding backrest which reduces the size of the Blazer making it perfect for users who are travelling by car and therefore need to transport their chair with them. A compact indoor/outdoor powerchair, the Blazer can easily be adjusted to meet the specific requirements of the user and is perfect for use in confined spaces due to its dimensions which are 60cm overall width and 100cm length. However, thanks to its standard large front castors and rear wheel suspension the Blazer is equally at home when being used in an outdoor environment. There are two speed options on the Blazer – 4mph and 6mph and in addition to the standard batteries, larger versions are available should the user require an increased range.
