Disability Rights UK Empowering Equality and Inclusion for Disabled People

We’re dedicated to creating a society where Disabled people have equal power, rights, and equality of opportunity.

As the UK’s leading organisation for, led, and run by Disabled people, we collaborate with Disabled People’s Organisations and the Government to drive change. We challenge policymakers to improve rights to benefits, quality of life, and economic opportunity.

We know it’s not disability or health conditions that prevent inclusion, but the barriers created by an inaccessible environment.

Supporting our work in 2026

We plough 100% of our profits from publications and Radar Keys back into funding our services, including our free helplines and factsheets, innovative projects to support independent living and standing up for Disabled people’s rights.

In this coming year we will hold the Government to account to deliver their commitment to run a co-produced review of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and monitor the impact of cuts to Universal Credit health-related support.

We also campaign for accessible transport, education, employment opportunities and public services.
This includes campaigning for the rights of people with non-visible conditions and to raise awareness of the fact that not everyone who needs an accessible toilet ‘looks disabled’.

Buying from Disability Rights UK means you can be sure your toilet key is manufactured and guaranteed by the makers of the Radar locks themselves, Nicholls & Clarke. We rely on sales to maintain the National Key Scheme which gives independent access to locked public toilets across the UK.
