In the criminal underbelly of 1940’s Chicago, Double Olivier Award-winning actor Mark Gatiss will make his RSC debut in the title role of Brecht’s simmering satire The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui in the Swan Theatre, directed by Seán Linnen. Our first ever production of Brecht’s classic play.
At The Other Place, the world premiere of Driftwood by Martina Laird plays in the spring- a gripping story about an estranged Trinidadian family, followed by a family-friendly summer production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream co-created with the UK’s leading children’s theatre the Unicorn Theatre.
This Christmas audiences of all ages can enjoy A Line Art’s Ready Steady Colour’s Christmas Feast, a fun festive experience of mealtime with a twist. Suitable for ages 3+.
We have Audio Described, Chilled and Captioned performances across all shows, BSL interpreted performances with an integrated interpreter for The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Cherry Orchard and Handheld Captioned performances for The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Driftwood and The Cherry Orchard.
We offer touch tours ahead of all our Audio Described performances and supporting resources for our shows include a sonic story highlighting key sounds throughout the performance, audio notes, a Content Advisory with detailed information on the themes and content of a show, and a filmed BSL synopsis.
Access tickets for our performances cost £16, whenever you visit and wherever you choose to sit. If you require the services of a companion, their ticket will be free.
We also have front row seats available at every performance in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre for people who are partially sighted or hard of hearing.

Assistance dogs can also be taken into the auditorium, but please make Box Office aware in advance when booking your seat. Alternatively, you can leave your dog with a member of staff in the foyer, but again please let us know in advance.

Over Christmas our magical production of The BFG perfect for all the family plays from 25 November to 7 February in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and The Forsyte Saga Parts 1 & 2 plays in the Swan Theatre until 10 January.
