Delighted with her experience of finding a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) with Allied Mobility, Arlene Hutchinson, from Pontyclun in Wales, shares the difference her Peugeot Horizon has made to her life.
Why a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle?
Arlene explains that she faced physical difficulty getting in and out of her standard car, saying: “My carer had to pick me up and get me into the car which wasn’t very easy.”
Looking for a better way to travel, that wouldn’t be so physically straining for her and her carer, Arlene turned to Allied Mobility to find the perfect WAV.

Free home demonstrations
Initially interested in Peugeot Horizon, Arlene’s dedicated mobility consultant, John, brought the vehicle to her home to ensure her powerchair would fit comfortably inside and that she and those she travels with were confident using the lightweight ramp and electric assist winch, which come as standard in all Allied Mobility passenger WAVs.
Made for ease
Since taking delivery of her brand new Horizon, Arlene has been on lots of adventures around Wales: “Once I got the vehicle you couldn’t stop me! I can drive my powerchair into the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle really comfortably and then bring myself back out – I think the world of it!”
