“My car is my life. If I didn’t have a car, I couldn’t do my job, I couldn’t go on holiday… I think all those things for a person with a disability, that ownership of your life, is just so important. And that’s what your car is. It gives you that ownership.” Robyn Love, Paralympian.
Mobility in Motion are excited to announce their new partnership with British basketball Paralympian, Robyn Love, to highlight the need for accessible mobility in all areas of life, especially in car travel.
The partnership hopes to bring greater awareness of the vehicle adaptations available for people with impaired mobility. Whether you need that extra bit of help to get seated, drive, or even stow a mobility aid, there are solutions for everyone’s individual requirements.
Commenting on her journey regarding travel, Love states: “I honestly had no idea that cars could be adapted. I didn’t know that you could swap accelerators around, I didn’t know you could have hand controls, and I didn’t know you could have a steering ball – until the guy in the showroom said, ‘Hey, have you thought about this?’
I’m so glad that I had that conversation, and since then, I’ve never looked back.”
Together, Mobility in Motion and Robyn, are working to ensure more people know about Mobility in Motion’s extensive range of adaptations that can be fitted to most vehicles.
