We want Greene King to be fully inclusive for our people and our customers; a place where everyone can be embraced and valued for who they are, which is why we are on a journey to everyday inclusion.

Our mission to pour happiness into people’s lives doesn’t stop when the pub doors close. It means providing meaningful work, where everyone can meet their potential and thrive. Whether it’s an employee or a customer visiting one of our pubs, we are committed to making both Greene King and the wider hospitality industry a more welcoming place for people from all backgrounds.

And we’ve been doing this through action – not just words.  Our employee led inclusion group, Ability, provides a community for people with both visible and non-visible disabilities to come together, raise awareness and educate colleagues about the challenges that living with disability can present, and the value this community brings to the workplace.

Active
Ability members have been active in lots of initiatives to raise awareness for people living with disabilities, including being mentors on our reverse mentoring programme, taking part in our “I’m not prejudiced…but” film, advising on the accessibility of our policies, and hosting events.

In the second series of Greene King’s Pint of Perspective podcast, team members shared their experiences of living with multiple sclerosis, anxiety, and autism.

We’re making great strides, but we know we still have a journey ahead of us to be truly welcoming to all, especially for people living with disabilities, but we remain committed to continually improve and make this change.
