Serious injury solicitors, Potter Rees Dolan, are delighted to announce that between February 2018 and February 2019, the law firm successfully secured over £114 million in damages for its clients.

Founded in 1998 with the aim of providing clients with a high quality and ‘user-friendly’ specialised service, Potter Rees Dolan has a firm-wide culture of excellence in client care, expert legal advice and advocacy.

Over a twelve-month period, the specialist Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams at the Manchester-based firm settled a total of 34 cases, ranging in value from £30,000 to £30 million.

This is a fantastic achievement for both Potter Rees Dolan and its clients – who have been seriously injured through no fault of their own – as the compensation received will go towards the vital rehabilitation services, and, often life-long, aftercare that is needed to move forward with their lives.

Data recently released from the government’s own studies reveals that since the government reforms in 2013, for claims valued at over £25,000 the amount awarded to successful claimants has dropped by 17% in Personal Injury Claims and 22% in Clinical Negligence Claims.

The fact that Potter Rees Dolan has managed to secure such high-value settlements for clients during a time when the overall amount awarded to successful claimants has significantly decreased across the sector, reflects the expertise, passion and dedication of the firm’s expert solicitors, and of course their commitment to their clients.

The three Senior Partners at Potter Rees Dolan – Hugh Potter, Rachel Rees and Helen Dolan comment below.

Hugh Potter, Senior Partner and Personal Injury Solicitor at Potter Rees Dolan: “We are privileged to be instructed by our clients. They are often in most need of substantial financial support following serious injury. The total amount of compensation we have recovered for them at an average of £3M each illustrates, I think, that we have performed our role well. This is particularly satisfying for us because compensation awards for serious injuries generally have actually reduced as clients and solicitors are under increasing pressure to settle their claims early and for less.”

Rachel Rees, Senior Partner and Personal Injury Solicitor at Potter Rees Dolan: “Our ethos has always been to fight for justice for our clients, focusing from the start on their rehabilitation needs and how best to meet these through rigorous team work. In these times of austerity when public services remain very limited, our role in recovering damages to provide for the lifelong needs of our clients is crucial and we are proud to be able to assist them.”

Helen Dolan, Senior Partner and Clinical Negligence Solicitor at Potter Rees Dolan:

“At Potter Rees Dolan we pride ourselves in getting the right result for our seriously injured clients by taking the time to investigate the full extent of their disabilities and their consequent needs. By doing such a thorough job, we can feel satisfied that we will have done all we can to ensure our clients have access to the support and rehabilitation they will require for the rest of their lives.”
