Following a lengthy and comprehensive judging process, the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has released its list of finalists for the 2019 RIDI Awards. Due to the high quality of entries, the independent judging panel remarked that selecting finalists was a very difficult task. Particularly strong was the ‘Getting Started’ category, showing that more recruiters are beginning their Disability Confident journey.
Now entering their fifth year, the RIDI Awards recognise and celebrate organisations that work to break down the barriers for disabled professionals in the workplace. Judges include disability champions such as Paul Awcock, Head of Talent Sourcing at Lloyd’s, Ty Jones, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Engagement at DWF, and Jane Hatton, Director at Evenbreak.

Congratulating the finalists, Kate Headley, Chair of Judging Panel, said:
“The quality of entries for the awards has been extremely encouraging, and the selection process certainly stimulated some passionate debate amongst our judges. What’s clear from this year’s submissions is that the commitment to the inclusion of disabled professionals is increasing across the board.’’
“It’s fantastic to see categories such as Getting Started gaining so much attention, demonstrating that more recruiters are beginning their disability confident journey. Many first-time entrants have shown incredible passion in the way they’ve approached the disability agenda, and some of their stories will stay with us forever.’’
“The RIDI Awards galvanise my belief that by coming together, we truly can break down the barriers that disabled jobseekers face. I’d like to wish all the finalists good luck, and I look forward to celebrating with you on the 11th April.”
