Hollyoaks will be releasing a 15-minute documentary after half twelve on Monday, titled Hollyoaks – See The Person, which celebrates the importance of diversity on television. Executive Producer Bryan Kirkwood has said “At Hollyoaks  we really like to celebrate diversity, I grew up in a house that wasn’t very well represented on TV at the time and I really like the idea that there are generations of people, from all walks of life, who can grow up watching themselves be represented on Hollyoaks”. The documentary interviews members of the cast, their parents, and crew members, who have disabilities and additional needs.

In the documentary, Amy Conachan (who plays Courtney Campbell) says “Shakespeare didn’t say that Juliet wasn’t in a wheelchair, so I could definitely play… Juliet”.

“It’s very important that we hear the voices that need to be heard and that have been underrepresented and not listened to in the past.” – Talia Grant

The documentary will be released after half twelve on Monday 4th February on Hollyoaks Social Media pages, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
