People with hearing loss are likely to be at their most vulnerable at night. Many people remove hearing aids to sleep, meaning that they would struggle to hear even loud alarms alerting them to smoke or fire.
The Bellman Visit Fire Safety Bundle combines several helpful features: smoke detector, alarm clock and bed shaker, that will provide an all-round system that’s reliable and easy to set up.
At the heart of the bundle is the alarm clock – which is literally no exaggeration, since it works both as an ordinary clock, and will sound an extra-loud alarm – with a built-in multiple frequency signal (and main frequency of 950 Hz – 3000 Hz) with cyclic ringing tones that get progressively louder, covering users with different forms and severities of hearing loss, as well as a flashing signal generated from four LED lights.
The bed shaker plugs into the alarm clock and is usually positioned under a pillow or mattress.
The unit also features tactile buttons and a night light, which can be useful in guiding you, if you’ve left your bed and the bundle can also be added to with other Visit system transmitters that will connect to doorbells, telephones and baby monitors.
Slightly ironic, is that once you know that you’ll be awoken if anything goes wrong, you may well start to sleep more easily!
