Mountain Warehouse invited us to check out their adapted kids footwear.

Drift Junior Waterproof Boots
While you can rely on very young children to find the mud and puddles on your route, you can also be reassured that though they might test these boots to the limit, that they’ll come through with flying colours.

Young feet are soft and can be difficult to gently persuade into shoes. While the boots are stiff and stable, the adjustable touch fastening strap and elasticated lacing means that the aperture can be widened and tightened up in a few simple seconds – and should easily endure the suck of mud.

The outside is tough, with toe bumpers and high traction outsoles providing grip and stability, but tender on the inside, with EVA cushioning and phylon midsoles that mould to feet. Synthetic and mesh uppers are both durable and breathable – as well as waterproof – and being lightweight means that energy is directed towards adventure, rather than on lifting heavy feet.

Mars Kids Adaptive Non-Marking Trainers
Kids want to be haring off with their friends, rather than struggling over complicated lacing, so the two adjustable touch fastening straps will be appreciated by youngsters with limited dexterity.

The mesh upper and lining are both lightweight and breathable and the shoe features EVA cushioning for comfort and a flexible sole, featuring deep lugs, for extra grip and stability.

The trainers are robust enough for outdoor use but will not mark floors, making them a good all-rounder.
