Leading mobility equipment brand CareCo has opened a major new information centre and showroom in south London to help service the south of England.

The Croydon facility is the companies’ first centre south of the River Thames offering 4,000 square feet of showrooms, free parking, disabled toilet facilities, refreshments and outside trial area

CareCo is based around an ethos to assist and inform as well as run a business for the fast growing numbers of disabled people and people with mobility problems in the UK.  It works with a dedicated occupational therapist and guarantees the lowest prices in the UK for its fully tested 5000 plus products which range from the latest in high powered mobility scooters, wheelchairs, furniture and beds right down to exciting new ranges of protective bedding, bathing aids and personal products

The official opening, attended by the Worshipful the Mayor of Croydon Councillor Wayne Trakas-Lawlor and the Managing Director of CareCo William Harrison, was well underway when members of staff had to break off to sell a variety of items.

“It is wonderful that word is spreading so quickly,” said Mr Harrison. “We are still completing the showroom but clearly there will be a big demand in this region for our specialised mobility products and we are really delighted to be here.”

The new facility will enhance the availability of the products at CareCo’s online shop at www.careco.co.uk and its other showrooms in Hayes, Brentwood and Birmingham.

Local resident Judith Chenery tried out one of CareCo’s more powerful road mobility scooters.

“Modern day equipment is so much quieter and more efficient than I realised,” she said. “The on road mobility scooter was so easy to operate…and really comfortable as well.“

At the end of the proceedings Keith Crowhurst, Manager of the local charity The British Home,  was presented with a wheel chair.

The new CareCo is at 230 Thornton Road, Croydon, CR0 3EU.
