On winning gold:
“I am exhausted, I am just really happy. It’s just really amazing. I knew I was going to win. It’s just really great to be training beside such a great bunch of blokes.”
On dedicating his medal:
“I want to dedicate it to my mum, dad, step-dad, coach and of course Australia.”
Jack Thomas (WAL) – bronze
On winning bronze:
“I didn’t really expect to win a medal so I am really happy.”
On his tactics:
“To keep up with the Australian (gold medallist Daniel Fox, AUS) was my plan until the third 50m, and then bring it (the medal) home.“
