Every member of staff at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has their own story and we are fortunate that so many are willing to share theirs and to learn from each other, which helps us to grow and change as an organisation. Our sessions, where staff share their lived experiences, are one of the most powerful things we do. Recent sessions on disability, neurodivergence and race allowed our colleagues to share experiences from inside and outside of work, and for us to explore what we can do even better.

Supporting our staff, whether through our wellbeing programme, employee assistance programme, adjustments within the workplace or via our mental health champions, is central to what we do, to focus on the individual and their potential, rather than a ‘label’.

Inclusive
This extends to the work we do as a council, working closely with our residents and communities as we deliver high quality services across Basingstoke and Deane, a borough that offers a real blend of urban and rural living.

We are investing in our staff and increasing our workforce and are committed to being fully inclusive and accessible, through our recruitment processes, working environment and development opportunities. We would love to work with you and for us to be part of your story.
